Well done to everyone who ran in today’s London Marathon. In particular, congratulations to Wilson Kipsang, Mary Keitany, Claire Hallisey, David Weir, and Shelley Woods. Bring on the Olympics!
If you ran today, I would love to hear how you got on, so please get in touch via the comments, Twitter, Facebook, or email.
Fantastic – I was cheering along with Macmillan – What a fabulous day!! Awesome achievement
Having ran the first half in 1:34:14 and loved it, fatigue kicked in and I faded, finishing in 1:17:15. I really wanted sub 3:15 just so I could get an automatic ‘good for age’ entry next year, but apart from that it was a decent result for my first road half.
The emotional lift you get from the crowds is staggering.
Walking along to your baggage lorry at the end, if you’ve got a high number like mine, 50927, is an endurance event in itself! Then I was desperate to get out of the finish area and onto the grass of St James’s Park for a lie down and a recovery shake!
Well done! 3:17 is a bloody good time. So, are you a road convert now?
Trail will always be my first love, but road’s good too!
